Product Description
The distinctive style of the Estelon YB MK II loudspeaker may be a masterpiece of sleek design, as with all the Estelon products, but it is also a triumph of “form follows function”. With an emphasis on lines and surfaces, as opposed to the X-Series’ organic curves, the resulting Y shape, from which the YB name derives, is obtained by the system’s asymmetric driver positioning.
The newly upgraded YB Mk II contains new crossover and cabling and it’s now coming in the same marble based composite cabinet for a quality of sound that immerses the listener in both the technical brilliance and the emotional ebb and flow of the audio experience.
With their asymmetrical design, the Estelon Model YB speakers are a prime example of a functional design approach. The cabinets are moulded from a marble based composite material and shaped to optimise sound quality. The placement of the drivers in the cabinet is also well thought out: the mid-woofer is positioned above the beryllium driver to minimise sonic reflections from the floor. The wider speaker base accommodates the bass driver with aluminium diaphragm. Since the woofers are angled towards each other, they can be placed close to a wall even in smaller rooms without having to cope with overlapping sound.
