Pass Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1991. Nelson Pass began developing a unique prototype out of his shop at home. That prototype, a single-ended Class A amplifier, became what many acclaimed as the “amplifier of the decade.” Consequently, Pass Labs is one of the most prestigious brands in the audio world. Pass Labs' mission is “to build simple amplifiers that are distortion free and sound as good as possible.”
Pass Labs has forged timeless designs for their Preamplifiers and Amplifiers. Most of them still incorporate a lot of the same components used during the original creations decades ago. Pass Labs released the X1000 in 1998 with their patented SuperSymmetric technology. Subsequently this groundbreaking design paved the way for how Pass Labs develops models to this day. In 2017, Nelson Pass was awarded the Positive Feedback’s Lifetime Achievement to commend his incredible work on amplifier technology. In short, Pass Labs continues to break boundaries for amplifier design. Thus improving all aspects on every release.
