Meridian Audio Ltd was founded by two Brits, Bob Stuart and Allen Boothroyd in 1977; Bob majored in audio design at the Imperial College in London, and Allen studied industrial design at the Royal College of Art and was trained as a mechanical engineer. With shared interests and philosophies in audio equipment design, their first collaboration was on the Lecson hi-fi system, a design so innovative that it is now part of the permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. Meridian has a legacy of crafting innovative, elegant, high performance audio solutions, from compact DSP loudspeakers with integrated amplification, to its user-friendly music management platform Sooloos. Meridian also has an indelible role in the history of the CD player, with a track record of state-of-the-art, award-winning players including the 808v6 Signature Reference CD, the heart of Meridian’s ultimate music system. If you are interested in Meridian’s advanced, high-end audio equipment, you can trade-in one or more electronic components toward the purchase of a Meridian component or system by filling out Overture's Trade-In Form.
